Melinda “Mindy” King is an enologist, writer, and photographer who holds a Master’s Degree from the Università degli Studi di Padova (Agricultural Sciences, Italian Food and Wine; Viticulture) and lives between Veneto and Sicilia. With decades in publishing, research, and winemaking, she earned degrees in European History (Italian Renaissance/Medieval Studies—emphasis agriculture, science, and medicine) Anthropology, and Environmental Sciences, having studied at Chapman University, Universidad de Monterrey, the British Institute, and Università di Firenze (“The Astrological Medicine of Marsilio Ficino”). Her photography company, Apericena, documents and promotes the region-specific work of small wine and agriculture producers (www.vinofoto.net). Melinda is currently working with vines on Mount Etna (Sicilia) with three wineries, and writes about Italian autochthonous vines.
